Our founder, having worked extensively in various healthcare settings, noticed a significant gap in accessible, personalized care for older adults. Many seniors struggled to attend traditional therapy appointments due to mobility issues, transportation challenges, and the discomfort of unfamiliar environments. Recognizing the need for a more convenient and effective solution, the idea of bringing high-quality occupational therapy directly to the homes of those in need was conceived. Driven by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to age gracefully and independently, we launched our mobile outpatient occupational therapy practice.

Mica Allen
OTD, OTR/L, LSVT, CKTP, CDP
Mica Allen is the passionate founder of Beyond Balance Therapy Services, bringing over a decade of dedicated experience in occupational therapy to her practice. Mica’s journey in the field of occupational therapy began in 2011 when she started as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Her dedication to enhancing the lives of older adults through therapy quickly became apparent, driving her to further her education and expertise.
Mica earned her Master of Science degree and became a registered occupational therapist (OTR) in 2017. Her commitment to professional growth and excellence did not stop there. She pursued and attained her Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) in 2022, solidifying her expertise and leadership in the field.
Mica holds several specialized certifications that enhance her ability to provide comprehensive care. She is certified in LSVT BIG therapy, which focuses on improving movement and function in individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions. Additionally, Mica is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP), utilizing advanced taping techniques to support muscle function and reduce pain. Her certification as a Dementia Practitioner (CDP) underscores her dedication to providing compassionate and effective care for individuals with dementia.
Throughout her career, Mica has worked with older adults in various settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, long-term care, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health care. Her diverse experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of the unique challenges older adults face, particularly in managing chronic conditions, post-surgical recovery, and maintaining independence.
Mica founded Beyond Balance Therapy Services with a vision to make high-quality occupational therapy accessible to older adults in the comfort of their own homes. Her practice emphasizes personalized care, home safety, and empowering clients to achieve their highest level of function and quality of life.
